- GON 27 -

This retreat marks the 27th Anniversary (GON27) of the Shin Ho Kwan Black Belt Winter Retreat, and will be held at a new location, the Watson Homestead Retreat Center.  The center boasts over 375 acres of land, a beautiful valley, and an indoor Olympic size heated swimming pool.

The theme for GON27 is Efficiency.  With over 20 hours of classroom instruction, several Instructor Q & A sessions, morning meditation and numerous ceremonies, this retreat is sure to be the most technical retreat to date.

The retreat is only open to Adult (15 years old and older) Black Belts or equivalent.

This retreat will focus on how to be more efficient in your techniques.  Each instructor will be examining techniques from their arts, deconstructing them into their component parts and explaining why they are done the way they are and how to make the techniques as efficient as possible.

Do you feel exhausted after doing several dozen kicks? Once you know how to kick efficiently, you won’t.

Does it take all your strength to throw a large opponent? Once you know how to throw efficiently, it won’t.

An efficient joint lock only takes 16 lbs. of pressure to manipulate anyone, no matter how strong. And, yours?

When you strike a hard target, if you do the technique efficiently you will never bruise.
